In 1999, Peggy Helton and Sandy Jarnagin started Premier Support Services, Inc. The primary focus of the business was supplemental staffing and occupational health services. As the demand for services grew, Peggy and Sandy were given the opportunity to purchase the Interim HealthCare Medicare Certified Home Health Agency in 2001. Thirty counties of East Tennessee from the borders of Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky through Hamilton County in Chattanooga are included in this License. The name has been transitioned to Interim HealthCare of East Tennessee and is still owned by the same two original founders of the company.
For several years the agency has been known throughout the area for the Private Duty Division that provides care to all ages with a focus on medically fragile children.
The Home Health Division is Medicare certified and a preferred provider for all programs of Blue Cross Blue Shield. The agency also works with most insurance carriers.
Our HomeStyle Services is a non medical personal care service focusing on mind, body, spirit and family. These services are reimbursed by private pay, Long-term Health Insurance and Workers Compensation.
As growth has continued two satellite offices have been added for ease of staff and clients. The Morristown office serves as Corporate Headquarters and serves the Lakeway Area. The Gray office serves the TriCities Area, and the Bulls Gap office serves the Bulls Gap and Greeneville area.
Interim HealthCare of East Tennessee recently was awarded the coveted Interim Silver Eagle Award for remarkable growth in the areas of Home Health and Private Duty Nursing. They also received the Market Development Award which is presented to the owner that has achieved sales growth through increased market penetration of existing markets.
The company has received recognition throughout the community for entrepreneurship and small business recognition. In 2009 they were awarded the KOSBE Entrepreneurial Award from the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. They continue to support local agencies such as the Technology School LPN Program, Paramedic program at the local community college and other not for profit organizations. The Annual Nurses Day Symposium was developed by Peggy to bring education to the community health care providers and recognition to the nurses in the community and local schools with all money received going to the LPN program.
They were also featured in the Tennessee Nursing Association publication for Nursing Entrepreneurship with an article. A local paper recognized them in the Women's magazine with a special article as well.
